Health Equity, how can we achieve it?

At work I spend a lot of time speaking with leaders of medical societies and healthcare organizations around the world. Every conversation is an opportunity to get to know the world a bit better, to understand different cultures and to see what issues clinicians are facing in different countries.

One common theme that comes up in almost every conversation is healthy equity. What can we do to ensure that the best care is available everywhere? How can we ensure that clinicians make decisions based on the best evidence?

These questions are always on my mind and I think we can solve this is by working together. Achieving health equity, eliminating disparities, and improving the health of all groups is not going to happen over night but it can happen if we make a priority to change.

I think of my family and the families around the world who must deal with the consequences of keeping the status quo.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on health equity and what we can do to achieve it?

Interview with Lorena Lopera – Latinos for Education

I had the pleasure to sit down for an interview with Lorena Lopera to discuss Lorena’s work at Latinos for Education, her new seat on the Boston School Committee, and L4E’s support of the Educator Diversity Act. Recap of the discussion in Spanish at the end of the video.

Through her work, Lorena wants to ensure that students, educators, and families can move beyond fighting for access and focus on creating impact.
